Dr. Deal Receives Cabell Award

On Sunday, May 10, Dr. Claire Deal, Elliott Professor of Rhetoric, was recognized at Commencement with the Cabell Award. This award is given annually in recognition of outstanding classroom contribution to the education of Christian young men.

She received a B.A. from Mercer University and went on to earn a M.A. at Furman University, a M.F.A. at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and a Ph.D. at George Mason University.

This award was created by the Robert G. Cabell III and Maude Morgan Cabell Foundation to assist the College in attracting and keeping professors of high ability and integrity.
