‘Clean The Trails’ At Sailor’s Creek
Published 1:14 pm Tuesday, June 2, 2015
On Saturday, June 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. the community is invited to assist park staff for a clean-up of a portion of the park’s namesake creek which contributes to the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. All necessary equipment and supplies will be furnished.
Learn a bit of the historical significance of this watershed as you help to make sure others can enjoy it in a clean environment. Participants will perform clean up and trail maintenance along both hiking trails. Water and snacks will be provided. These programs are supported by Chesapeake Bay Foundation and American Hiking Association. Wear comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes. Sun block, bug spray and work gloves will be provided by the park. Volunteers should meet at the battlefield’s Visitor Center parking lot. (This project is weather dependent and will be re-scheduled at a future time to be determined, if necessary).
