KEYSVILLE, June 23 — Charles Edgar Bickford Jr., 68, of Keysville, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015 at home with his family by his side.  He was born on April 14, 1947 in Pen-Argyl, Pennsylvania.

Mr. Bickford served in the United States Navy and was a retired correctional officer.  His many hobbies and interests included motorcycle riding, fishing, woodworking, gardening, bird watching and the love of spending time with his family and 17 grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Christine Stine Bickford; his parents, Charles and Gladys Bickford; his brother, Wayne Bickford; his children, Holly Burns (Philip), Ty Dunbar, Aimee Willis (Daniel), Tina Hicks (Daniel), Tara Dunbar and Tim Bickford.  Hewas preceded in death by a sister, Mae Frey.

A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, June 24  at the Browning-Duffer Funeral Home, with interment to follow at 1:30 p.m. in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23.
