ASHLAND — Hampden-Sydney College senior golfer Brian Burt has been named the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Men’s Golfer of the Year while also being named to the First Team. Burt is a native of Holt, Michigan, and attended Eastern Michigan High School.

Christopher Newport’s Jamie Coleman was tabbed the Coach of the Year, and Evan Cox of Virginia Wesleyan was named the Rookie of the Year.

Burt adds this to his All-America and All-ODAC honors this season. He also earned All-America, All-State, and All-ODAC accolades last season and had strong performances in the NCAA Tournament both seasons.

This year, he placed 12th overall in the field of 210. In 2014, he finished fifth. The full list of VaSID All-State Golfers is below.
