Arvis May Cunningham Shorter, 90

DARLINGTON HEIGHTS, June 9 — Arvis May Cunningham Shorter, 90, of Darlington Heights, died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 while on vacation in Pennsylvania. She was the widow of George D. Shorter who died in March of this year. She was born in Washington D.C. on February 12, 1925 and was a graduate of Stuart Circle Hospital School of Nursing.

After their marriage Mrs. Shorter left the nursing profession to join her husband on the farm. They worked the cattle farm together until their retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Wells; her grandchildren, Alex, John and Emily Wells; and her former son-in-law, Harry Wells.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 14, from 3–5 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home with a memorial service immediately following.

Interment will be private at a later date.
