CONNECTICUT, May 28 — Joseph C. Jordan, 73, of Niantic, husband of B. Karen Volkmar, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. He was very proud of his southern heritage.

He was born in Prince Edward County on November 12, 1941, to the late Manfred and Lula Jordan. Mr. Jordan served in the Navy for four years, he then later joined the Air National Guard, retiring after 20 years of service working on helicopters in Groton.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his son, Chris Jordan and his girlfriend, Kim Boswell of Dayville; a daughter, Cynthia Jordan of New Britain; two sisters, Myrna and her husband, Lloyd McKay of Farmville, and Eleanor and her husband, Bill Scruggs of Seaford; and a brother, Benjamin and his wife, Nancy Jordan of Newington. He also leaves his beloved wife, Karen and her son, Peter with wife, Daphne Volkmar of Waterford; and two “grand girls” Violet Ray and Maggie (Ray) Grieves and her husband, Chuck of Grovetown, GA.

Funeral services will be private.
