Jamestown Memorial

At the original site of worship, Hans Schumacher and John Hines, members of Jamestown Presbyterian Church, have constructed a large wooden cross. On Sunday, May 31, a belated Memorial Day worship service will be conducted by the Rev. Sam Rabon with special music within the foundation of the old church. This ‘Chapel in the Woods’ is located just off Route 619 in Rice at the Old JamesTown site near the Appomattox River. This will be a casual, outdoors service starting with fellowship at 10:30 a.m. and worship at 11 a.m. The community is invited to bring a lawn chair and attend. In case of inclement weather the service will be held at the Jamestown Presbyterian Church. For additional information, contact Beverly Hines at 392-3861.
