Walker’s Diner, located on North Main Street in downtown Farmville, was recently renovated by The Food Network’s American Diner Revival, after being selected as part of the new television series. The show’s Amanda Freitag and Ty Pennington travel the country empowering towns to lend a hand in saving their diners, using a combination of Ty’s design and carpentry skills and Amanda’s culinary expertise. “This duo has only a few days to transform—with the help of local residents—a cherished establishment…” notes the site. Diner owner Arlene Mosher (pictured), along with her family, were present among a large crowd that surprised her with the renovations. Theta Chi, a Longwood University fraternity, submitted Mosher’s diner to the network. The series premieres on May 22 at 10:30 p.m.
