Congratulations to Nat and Donna Cooke of Cartersville. They will be celebrating their wedding anniversary on Wednesday, April 29.

Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland held a special Ordination Service on Sunday, April 18. There were two new ordained deacons, Michael Parker and his brother Dennis Parker, both of Cumberland. Their mother, Annie May Lightfoot Parker said by phone on Sunday evening, “I am proud of my two sons and their dedication to the Lord.”

Welcome home to Mike Boyles of Cumberland who spent sometime in the hospital.

All are also welcome to come out and join the 19^th Annual Powhatan Antique Power Show Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., located on Academy Road Powhatan. Scheduled activities include tractor pull, live entertainment, Jonathan “The Juggler,” yard sales, crafts, great food and lots of activities for children.

The gate admission per day is $5 for adults, children two to 12 years $2 and under two free. All proceeds benefit the local Ruby Leonard Food Pantry.
