LCVA To Hold iPhone Photo Workshop

Published 3:21 pm Thursday, March 5, 2015

On Wednesday, March 11, 6 to 8 p.m., the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts will present the second installment of Art After Dark Creative Gatherings. Photographer Sam Krisch will lead an interactive discussion about how the iPhone has influenced his own photographic work, as well as demonstrate how you can use your smartphone or tablet to produce engaging and creative images.

Art After Dark replaces the formal “lecture” format normally associated with museums with interdisciplinary activities such as this iPhone Photography workshop. The evening gatherings have a relaxed atmosphere that encourages engaging conversation. All activities are completely free of charge, and are made possible in part through the very generous support of the Longwood Parent’s Council.

Krisch is well regarded for his iPhone work, including publication of an iPhone portfolio in PHOTOGRAPH magazine, and awards and exhibitions in juried shows in New York, Denver, Miami and Modesto, California. In 2013 he exhibited his iPhone photography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lynchburg in the solo exhibition ROAMING PLAN: iPhone Adventures.
