Congratulations to Steve Ragland, of Winginia, who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, January 28.
Sympathy is extended to the Snead family of Glenn Allen. Thomas C. Snead, 84, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 22. A home-going celebration was held on January 26 at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in Glenn Allen. He will be greatly missed and remembered by all his family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in.

A home-going celebration was held January 23 at Rocky Mount United Methodist Church in Dillwyn. She will be greatly missed by all.
Larry and Barbara Barone, of Cumberland, Tony and Jan Barone Crawley, of Farmville and other friends from Farmville joined in a birthday celebration for Jan at a Farmville restaurant on Friday evening, January 23.
Welcome home to our relative Tommy Tomlin of Charlottesville who spent same time at the University of Virginia Hospital.
Sympathy is extended to the Asal family of Farmville. Annie Frances Simpson Asal, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday January 20. A graveside funeral service was held January 25 at Antioch Methodist Church in Cumberland. She will be greatly missed by all.
Visiting in the home of Annie May Miles of Dillwyn on Wednesday, January 21, was Reva Allen of Cumberland. Also visiting on Sunday was Sue Lipscomb of Cumberland.
A special get well wish is sent out this week to Myrle Gibson of Covington. She is the mother of Fern Donavan of Dillwyn.
Spreading God’s Gifts, Inc. is a local non-profit home-grown faith-based ministry organization that assists working individuals or families in need. They primarily serve Buckingham and surrounding counties.
On Saturday evening, February 7 (snow date Saturday February 21) there will be a sweetheart dinner at the First Baptist Church in Dillwyn to benefit Spreading God’s Gifts. Dinner will be served from 6-8 p.m. Dinner includes ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, and gravy, salad, roll, dessert, tea, coffee and water for a donation. Denise Bryant of Buckingham will provide dinner music and there will be door prizes given away. The event is being co-sponsored by Puckett and Shorter Funeral Homes of Farmville. Funds resulting from this event will help individuals and families in the hour of need. All are invited to make plans to join in for an evening of great food and entertainment.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a non-profit organization, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, February 7 at 1 p.m. at the Restoration Outreach church, located on U.S. Route 15 two miles south of Spouses Corner.
All members are invited to attend and bring a covered dish for lunch. The guest speaker will be Pastor Wayne Watkins.
