Happy Birthday wishes go out this week to Jan Barone Crawley, of Farmville, and John Tramell, of Farmville, celebrating on Saturday, January 24.

Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, along with Annie May Miles, of Dillwyn, enjoyed lunch at a Farmville restaurant on Monday, January 19.

Congratulations to Tabitha Gough the daughter of Alan and Tammy Gough all of Winginia. She was recently accepted into Liberty University as she prepares to become a register nurse.

Barry and Linda Miles request prayers for a speedy recovery to Annie May Miles. She underwent eye surgery at Centra Southside Community Hospital of Farmville on Monday, January 19. She is said to be getting along nicely as of this writing.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who are sick and shut-in.

Barry and Linda Miles, James and Virginia Boyles of Cumberland and Annie May Miles all enjoyed an afternoon meal at a restaurant in Midlothian on Friday, January 16.

Fitzgerald Baptist Church, partnering with the Central Virginia Food Bank Feed more program, will be distributing food to Cumberland County residents (including Cartersville residents) on Monday, January 26 from 1-2 p.m. at Southworth Power Equipment, located on Anderson Highway. Recipients must have registered in December or must see Director Jerry Seal the day of distribution to qualify.

Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Road in Farmville, will host special services on Sunday, January 25. Nathan Fray will be presenting his mission ministry work to Brazil during the 10 a.m. Sunday school hour and the 11 a.m. worship hour.

Union Branch Baptist Church, located on Bridgeport Road in Arvonia, had planned a food distrubtion on Saturday, January 24. It has been cancelled.
