Suspect Sought In Armed Robbery

FARMVILLE — Police responded to a report of an armed robbery Saturday evening at the Comfort Inn, according to a press release issued Monday by the Farmville Police Department.

Farmville police responded to the business at 11:13 p.m. on January 3 when a call was received from the establishment, according to the press release authorized by Acting Police Chief Andy Ellington.

“The employee reported that a customer had just been robbed and was awaiting an officer’s arrival in the lobby. The victim reported to officers that he had been robbed at gunpoint by an unknown male subject,” the press release states.

The victim told police that “upon answering a knock at his door an unknown male placed a handgun to his head and forced him back into the room, demanding money. The suspect fled the room with an undisclosed amount of money,” the press release states.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, 5’ 7” tall, with a mustache, goatee, wearing a black jump suit, with a black hoodie covering his head. The suspect, police say, was viewed leaving the scene in a grey-colored Ford mini van.
