PE, Town Prepared To Open Emergency Shelters

Weather forecasters are predicting frigid temperatures Wednesday night that could fall into the single digits, which could be a concern for those losing heat or power.

According to the U.S. National Weather Service, temperatures are expected to fall to between 10-15 degrees Wednesday night with wind chill values ranging from 0-10 degrees below.

Prince Edward and Farmville are prepared to open shelters if needed, according to Prince Edward Assistant County Administrator and Emergency Services Coordinator Sarah Puckett. Those needing assistance are advised to contact Farmville Communications at 434-392-3332.
