PROSPECT, December 16 — Joseph Ray Noblin, 77, of Prospect, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2014. He was born in Farmville on January 13, 1937 to the late James C. and Mary Roller Noblin.

Mr. Noblin was retired from VDOT and was a member of Heritage Baptist Church. He loved to volunteer at Centra Southside Hospital and going to the YMCA.

He was a devoted husband to Betty Arrington Noblin and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mr. Noblin is survived by his wife; a son, David Ray Noblin (Paula) of Chesapeake; two grandchildren, Brady Taylor Noblin and Allie McConnell Noblin; and a sister, Linnie N. Kernodle (Warren) of Hampden Sydney. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Julian C. Noblin and Carey R. Noblin and a sister, Emma N. Woodson.

A funeral service was held Sunday, December 14 in the Chapel of Puckett Funeral Home.
