DECEMBER 30 — Ernest Lee Carter, of Farmville and Cumberland County, departed this life on Friday, December 26, 2014 in Richmond. Born August 8, 1953, he is the son of the late Willie Lee and Carrie Blanton Carter.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred Sprague Carter; daughters, Sharon Carter Lundy (Robert) and Joyce Carter; stepdaughter, Martha Forrest (Michael); stepson, Donell Sprague; brother, Willie “Donnie” Carter (Rose); sisters, Rebecca Miller (Benjamin), Linda Carter, Earlene Carter, Estelle Carter, Carrie Carter (Alvin), and Barbara Whittle (Charles); three grandsons, five step-grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Thursday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. from the Minor B Eggleston Chapel, 914 S. Main Street, Farmville, and where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 2 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery.
