PAMPLIN, November 11 — Larry Wood Chandler, 63, of Pamplin, died Sunday, November 9, 2014 at his residence. He was the husband of Judy Robinson Chandler for 42 years. Born in Hampton on January 25, 1951, he was a son of the late Ernest Chandler and the late Ruby Huggate Chandler Lankford and the late Albert Dale “A.D.” Lankford.
He was retired from Frito Lay and was a part-time bee keeper, farmer and gardener. He was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam.
In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by six sisters, Ernestine Merchant and husband, Wayne, Janice Bell and husband, Jim, Patricia Miner, Betty Craig and husband, Richard, Edna Loer and husband, Timothy, and Joan Walling and husband, Aaron; three brothers-in-law, Jerry Robinson, William Robinson and wife, Sandy and David Robinson and wife, Terri; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Chandler.
The family will receive friends at Robinson Funeral Home, Appomattox on Thursday, November 13 from 7 until 8:30 p.m.
A memorial service officiated by Timothy Loer will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, November 14 at Claytor-Rollins Funeral Home, 836, Poquoson Avenue, Poquoson, VA 23662 followed by a visitation.
