BLACKSTONE, November 11 — Alan R. Connelly, 66, of Blackstone, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014.

Mr. Connelly attained the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14, he was a United States Air Force Veteran, having served during Vietnam. While in service he was very instrumental in starting the water therapy program for paraplegics at Myrtle Beach, SC.

He was the owner of Connelly’s Financial Services in Blackstone for 40 years.

Mr. Connelly is survived by his wife, Debbie Connelly; son, Christopher Ross Connelly, aka Maestro Silas Shatterheart of Raleigh, NC; and a brother, Richard Lee Connelly of Garner, NC.

A Celebration of Mr. Connelly’s life will be conducted 12:30 p.m., Sunday, November 16 from the Chapel of Hamner-McMillian Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 1400 S. Main St. in Blackstone. He was well loved and will be much missed.
