PROSPECT, October 7 — Jerome Karst Shield, 83, of Prospect, died on Sunday, October 4, 2014 in Farmville. He was the son of the late Margaret Mary Shield and the stepson of the late Lansing P. Shield.

He served in the Navy before he continued his studies at Columbia Graduate School.

Mr. Shield is survived by a sister, Julie Marie Shield of Prospect and two cousins, McDonald Edward Wrenn of Wilmington North Carolina and Larry Freer of Butte, Montana.

There will be a visitation at Doyne-Burger-Davis Funeral Home on Tuesday evening (tonight) from 6-8 p.m.

A funeral mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 14 at 11 a.m.
