On Thursday, October 30, Hampden-Sydney College’s faculty members Alfonso Varona, Assistant Professor of Spanish, and Jannette Amaral-Rodriguez, Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish, will present a Day of the Dead Celebration.

This event will include an altar offering and cultural information. You may bring a photo to honor your beloved family members and friends who have passed on.

There will be a film screening of Macario, which is a compelling and esthetically rich example of Mexico’s Golden Age of Cinema.

This event begins at 7 p.m. at the Spanish House (Thompson House – 220 College Rd.), and it is being sponsored by the Spanish Club and the Office of Inclusion. Admission is free and open to the public.
