PRINCE EDWARD — High Bridge Realty LLC, has asked the County to rezone 50 acres off of U.S. Route 460 west of Farmville from A-1 Conservation to A-2 Agricultural Residential to allow a concrete plant and an asphalt plant, by special use permit.
The County’s planning commission has scheduled public hearings, one for rezoning and the separate request for the special use permit, for Tuesday, October 21 at the County’s board of supervisors meeting room at 7:30 p.m.
The rezoning request is for property listed as timberland and identified as part of the Hudson farm. Among the contiguous property owners listed were the Trustees of Appomattox-Prince Edward Presbyterian Church.
The application for special use permit details in a statement of general compatibility with adjacent and other properties in the zoning district that the “proposed use is compatible with A-2 zone and is allowed by SUP (Special Use Permit), adjacent low density forested land will serve as a buffer, transportation system is adequate.”
Planning commissions consider requests and make recommendations to the County’s board of supervisors. Supervisors typically schedule separate public hearings prior to taking action on requests.
