Twin Lakes Notes Weekend Events

Twin Lakes State Park announces the following weekend events:

Friday, Sept. 12, Interpretive Circle, 11 a.m., “Lake Explorers” – grab a net and see what kinds of creatures are living in our lakes; 2 p.m., “Skin and Bones” – learn about some of the local wildlife in Virginia, 4 p.m., “Archery” -learn about bows and arrows, then put your skills to the test on the range, $5 per person or $25 per group, closed toed shoes required, meet at the Archery Range, located just past the boat ramps; 7:30 p.m., “Meet New Friends Campfire” – sit around the campfire and make smokes, meet at the fire ring behind Shelter 1;

Saturday, Sept. 13, Nature Nook 3 p.m., “National Day of Service” – join Twin Lakes on this National Day of Service and Remembrance honoring 9/11 victims to help beautify the park, volunteers will help by participating in a roadside clean-up and afterwards are invited to a cookout;

Sunday, Sept. 14, Interpretive Circle, 11 a.m., “Back Yard Bass” – test angling skills with this fun land based fishing game; 2 p.m., “Creature Feature – Snakes” – learn about our slithering friends; 4 p.m., Animal Architects” – find out what other types of creatures build homes to live in.
