SEPTEMBER 9 — James A. Rye Jr. “Pops” passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the age of 88. He was retired from the Department of Corrections in Dillwyn and a WWII Veteran. He was born on January 9, 1926 in War, WV.

Mr. Rye is survived by two daughters, Rita DeRosa and Linda Sheckart; sisters, Inza Bircher and Louise Duvall; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his wife, Louise Rye and a son, Jimmy Rye.

Services will be held at the Antioch Union Church, Gladstone, on September 13 at 11 a.m.
