Ceremony Held

The marriage of Kirsten Elizabeth Miner, of Waynesboro, daughter of Steven Mark Miner and Cathy Ann Syms, of Serverna Park, MD, and Kwadwo Owusu Donkor, of Waynesboro, son of Dr. Kwabena and Mrs. Grace Donkor, of Farmville, took place on July 26 in Charlottesville.
Jessie Syms officiated at the ceremony.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a strapless candlelight gown featuring beading on the bodice, design beading on the back, and a chapel-length train. She carried a bouquet of dendrobium orchids and calla lilies in pink and white.
Mrs. Krista Boyd, of Millersville, MD, was matron of honor. Mrs. Kristen Schmucker, of Camden, SC, was bridesmaid.
Thomas Lilley, of Lovingston, served as best man. Murphy Luatua, of Westminster, MD, and Tyler Kelly, of Roanoke, were ushers.
A reception was held at the UVA Chapel and Alumni Hall.
The couple will reside in Waynesboro.
The bride graduated from the master’s program at UVA in 2013. She is employed as an athletic trainer at the Miller School of Albemarle.
The groom is a graduate of Fuqua School and a 2012 graduate of Bridgewater College. He is employed as an athletic trainer at Fishburne Military School.
