Twin Lakes Notes Weekend Events

Twin Lakes State Park announces the following weekend events:

Friday, August 15, 11 a.m., “Canoeing 101” – learn about canoeing from interpreters, then paddle around the lake on a guided tour, $5 per person or $4 per person for groups of 4+ closed toed shoes required, meet at the Goodwin Lake Boat Ramp; 2 p.m., “Make Your Own Birdfeeders” – make a unique birdfeeder out of everyday household items; 4 p.m., “Sunshine Magic” – use the power of the sun to create cool pictures; 7:30 p.m., “Meet new Friends Campfire” – at the fire circle near Shelter 1 make s’mores and get to know fellow campers;

Saturday, August 16, 11 a.m., “Archery” – test your skills on the range, $5 per person or $25 per group, closed toed shoe required, meet at the Archery Range located just past the Boat Ramps; 2 p.m., “Native Know How” – find out what Dream Catchers are, then make your own, meet in the Nature Nook;

Sunday, August 17, interpretive Circle, 11 a.m., “Good Old Games” — find out what games they used to play and try them for yourself, 2 p.m., “Scavenger Hunt” – a nature inspired scavenger hunt; 4 p.m., “Call of the Wild” – learn the various calls that animals make to communicate with one another.
