FARMVILLE — If I could accomplish one thing for the citizens of Farmville it would be to enable Farmville government to be transparent and open for citizens.

I believe that if Farmville were more open and transparent we would have more input from our citizens. Therefore, the town council would have a better understanding of the direction the citizens would want the council to move toward.

I can accomplish this goal by the following:

Holding town hall meetings.

Walking through each Ward to listen to citizens’ input and see firsthand what is needed.

Post on the Town’s website the actions, plans and direction in which council is moving to receive input and feedback from Farmville citizens.

A 24-hour telephone hotline to receive citizen input.

Set up social media accounts, such as Facebook or Twitter, for citizens’ input.

Using these tools will help me to be accountable to the citizens and bring us closer to becoming “One Farmville.”
