SOUTH BOSTON, August 28 — Roy Harry Lacks, of South Boston, died Monday, August 25, 2014 at the Halifax Regional Hospital. He was born in Halifax County on March 9, 1936 and was 78 years old. He was the son of the late Charlie Henry Lacks and Nannie Seamons Lacks and was married to Mary Davis Lacks, who survives.

Mr. Lacks was a member of Ingram Pentecostal Holiness Church and was retired from J.P. Stevens after 42 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Davis Lacks of South Boston; a daughter, Lisa Blanks and husband, Dennis of Scottsburg; two sons, Tim Lacks and wife, Debbie of FarmvilIe and David Lacks and wife, Barbara of Scottsburg; six grandchildren, John Blanks, Melissa Conner, Dennis Blanks Jr., Joni Gardner, Jennifer Lacks and David Lacks Jr.

Funeral services were held at Ingram Pentecostal Holiness Church on Wednesday, August 27 with the Rev. Ron Sexton officiating. Burial followed in the Clover Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home 3109 East Hyco Road, South Boston, VA 24592.
