Editor, The Herald:

As I have been out of town for several weeks, I am late in writing to thank Mr. Furman Joye (Herald, July 23) for coming to the aid of Longwood University. I agree with his comments completely. Moton Museum is asking Longwood to partner with them and at the same time, a board member has made offensive accusations (Herald, July 16) to Dr. Reveley, President of Longwood University. Race relations in Prince Edward have greatly improved over the years and, I pray, will continue to do so; nevertheless, I fear that this type of behavior, rather than improving these relations, will produce a step backwards.
