Twin Lakes Notes Weekend Events

Twin Lakes State park announces the following weekend events:

Friday, July 18, in the Interpretive Circle; 11 a.m., “Geocaching 101” – find out what geocaching is all about while exploring the park; 2 p.m., “Call of the Wild” – learn about the various kinds of calls that animals make; 4 p.m., “Beaver Hike” – take a guided hike around Goodwin Lake and see how beaver impacts our environment; 7:30 p.m., “Meet New Friends Campfire” – sit around the campfire and make s’mores, meet in the Fire Circle near Shelter 1;

Saturday, July 19, in the Nature nook: 10 a.m., “Junior Rangers” – a day filled with fishing, archery, canoeing, educational talk, and a fun craft, $10 per child, please provide a bottle of water and a lunch, pre-register by calling the Park office, closed toe shoes are recommended;

Sunday, July 20, in the interpretive Circle: 11 a.m., “Archery” learn all about bows and arrows, then test your skills on the archery range, $5 per person or $25 per group; 2 p.m., “Native Know How” – learn native skills and make craft related to Native American knowledge; 4 p.m., “Animal Architects” – find out what animals build their homes and why.
