FARMVILLE — A big bang theory will be performed on Sunday night, August 31, the Town of Farmville forced by a forecast of rain to cancel its July 3 Fireworks After Dark.

Wednesday’s decision marked the second straight year the Fourth of July passed without a bang at the Farmville Regional Airport because of rain.

The last Sunday in August will see the Labor Day weekend gain from the Independence Day celebration’s loss.

The Town expects the show to go on that evening as it would have done July 3.
