JUNE 12 — Geneva Adele Redd, 99, of Farmville, departed this life Sunday, June 8, 2014.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Dr. Barbara B. Chapman; son-in-law, Tyrone Chapman; sister, Virginia Craig (Ray); foster sister, Ruth Venable; sister-in-law, Severa Redd; and a host of other relatives and friends; among them two devoted nieces, Catherine Hines-Smith (Gary) and Betty Redd. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kathleen F. and John Redd, and six siblings.

A funeral service will be held at noon on Friday, June 13 at New Witt Baptist Church, 7469 Farmville Road, Farmville, where remains will lie in state two hours prior to the service. The Rev. Winston Bland will be officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
