APPOMATTOX, June 24 — Foster Lee (Jimmy) Pierce, 86, of Appomattox, died Friday morning, June 20, 2014 in Virginia Baptist Hospital. Born in Gretna on March 2, 1928 he was a son of the late Pauline Moschler and Lonnie Pierce. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and after 60 years of service retired as the co-owner and operator of Pierce–Johnson Lumber Company of Dillwyn.

Mr. Pierce is survived by his children, Tim Pierce and wife, Patsy, and Debbie P. Goin all of Appomattox, Mark Pierce and wife, Beth, and Liz P. Creasy and husband, Roger all of Evington; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Chad Pierce, sister, Ida P. Elliott and three brothers, Alvin, Paul and James Pierce.

Funeral services were held Sunday June 22 at Bible Baptist Church officiated by the Rev. Jeff Worley and the Rev. Jerry Boyce. Burial followed in Green Lawn Cemetery, Hurt.
