Farmville Library Offers Varied Summer Events

Opportunities for affordable fun for the entire family abound at the Farmville-Prince Edward Community Library.

Fridays at 2 p.m. is Family Movie Matinee featuring films for the whole family on the library’s big screen. Free popcorn and drinks are provided. Call (434) 392-6924 for a complete list of titles.

The third Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. is Saturday Morning Crafting. Learn how to make a treasure box from an old book on June 21. All materials are provided.

For the younger members of the family, June 23 begins the summer reading program, “Paws to Read.” Teens can enjoy movie night every Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Call (434) 392-6924 for a complete list of titles.

The third Saturday of the month is Game On @ the Library, where teens can play Wii video games, board games and trading card games. Refreshments are provided.

The second Saturday of each month at 10:30 a.m. is Teen Studio. On July 12 use old comic books to make a fun and crazy picture frame.

On Saturday, July 5, at 10 a.m. is the First Annual Super Smash Bros. Tournament. Entry is free and pizza will be provided. Prizes will be awarded to first through third place. Call (434) 392-6924 for more details.
