Ralph and Fern Donavan, of Dillwyn, visited her mother, Myrle Gibson, of Covinton, on Friday, April 18. Family and friends ask for prayer for Myrle. She has not been feeling well.
Sympathy is extended to the Wood family of Farmville. Wanda Waycaster Ownby Wood, 86, passed away on Wednesday, April 9. A funeral service was held April 12. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association will host their annual cookout at their regular monthly meeting on Saturday, May 5 at 5 p.m. at Cedar Baptist Church. Cedar Baptist Church, located on Bell Road in Dillwyn on State Route 650, will have a “Cedar Clothes Closet” on Saturday, April 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. Union Branch Baptist Church, located on Bridgeport Road in Arvonia, will not be hosting fourth Saturday food distribution on Saturday, April 26 due to spring revival. The next distribution is scheduled for Saturday, May 10.
Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Road in Prince Edward will host special services on Sunday, April 27 during the 10 a.m. Sunday school hour and 11 a.m. morning worship hour with Josh and Sarah Wagar, missionaries to Chuuk, Micronesia. The Wagars’ home church is Good News Baptist Church in Chesapeake.
