Reverend Patricia M. Bain

NORFOLK, April 3 — Reverend Patricia M. Bain went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 31, 2014. “Pastor Pat” was born in 1942. She was raised in the Woodbridge area, and graduated from Radford College in 1965. She went on to receive her Master’s degrees from Hollins University and Wesley Theological Seminary. She was involved in all aspects of ministry, from children and youth programming to pastoring her own churches throughout the rural towns of Virginia for over 20 years.

Rev. Bain was a strong woman, having survived cancer for over 20 years. She was always up for a challenge and loved to meet new people. She shared her spirit and love with all that came in contact with her.

She leaves behind her former husband, Robert Bain Jr. of Chesapeake; their three children and spouses, Elisabeth and Arthur Prince of Webster MA, Michael and Katherine Bain of Chesapeake, and Catherine and David Pearman of Norfolk; seven grandchildren, Kelsey, Joshua, Cody, Kaitlyn, Abigail, Sydney Paige and Alise; and sister-in-law, Karen Money.

The family would like to express its gratitude for the tremendous outpouring of support from family and friends during the past few months.

A celebration of her life and memorial service will be held at H.D. Oliver Funeral Home, 1501 Colonial Avenue, Norfolk on Saturday, April 5 with visitation from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. followed by the service.
