James “Jimmy” Poor, 72

CUMBERLAND, April 22 — James “Jimmy” Poor, 72, of Cumberland, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014. He was an Army veteran and retired from Norfolk Naval Ship Yard in Portsmouth. Mr. Poor was also an avid hunter, co-founder of the Dismal Swamp Ranger’s Shooting Team and well known for groundhog hunting.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Lee Poor. He was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Myra Poor, a sister, Christina Poor Loomis and his beloved huskie, Bandit.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 26 at 2 p.m. at Thomas Chapel United Methodist Church, 1313 Cartersville Road, Cartersville.
