High Bridge To Offer Guided Tours

As some park visitors are unable to complete the one-mile hike to get to High Bridge to the inconveniece of the location, they now have the opportunity to enjoy the scenic and historic High Bridge with a guided access service.
The preferred group size should be at least 10 members and they should have a need to be assisted to the approached to High Bridge. Please call the park office for available. Park visitors should arrive in vans or carpools. The group may also request and informative program.
Although the trail is fully accessible to all, the nearest parking lot is at the River Road parking access three miles from Farmville, and is about a mile from the bridge. The round trip is nearly three miles long to cross High Bridge from the nearest parking lot. High Bridge Trail State Park’s guided service eliminated this one-mile trek to High Bridge by allowing the group’s vehicles to be guided by a park official along the service road, normally closed to the public. This program is free.
High Bridge is a scenic destination with incredible views year-round, so don’t wait to make reservations. Guided access service to the bridge is available almost every second and fourth Thursday of the month. Available time slots are at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m. or 2:30 p.m. Call the park office at 434-315-0457 or email highbridgetrail@dcr.virginia.gov
