GOP Finds Funds For Wars, But Won't Take Care Of People At Home

Editor, The Herald:

Here we go again. Republicans calling President Obama weak in regard to his dealing with Putin over the Russian troops occupying the Crimean Peninsula. They just don’t seem to get their fill of war. Maybe if they had to send their first born or their grandchildren to the front lines, they just might think twice about military intervention. If they had their way, we’d still have troops in Iraq, never leave Afghanistan, and have the potential for war on several fronts, such as; North Korea, Iran, Palestine, Syria, Libya, and Egypt. Republicans just like to fan the flames of war, or is it that they like the sound of war drums? Whichever, but that’s exactly what has gotten America in this financial crisis in the first place. Specifically the war in Iraq, which cost this country – that is its citizens – about $5 trillion dollars. All of which was funded by Congress without a peep. For that we can thank President Bush and Vice-President Chaney. It appears that the Republicans always seem to find money for wars, but can’t see their way clear to take care of our people at home.
