Garden Club Enjoys Program On Birds

The Ruth Adams Garden Club met February 26 at the home of Nan Colvin. Dolly Worthy served as co-hostess. Deanna Fehrer presented a program on The Feeding of Birds which incorporated information about the local bird club which meets at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month at the Prince Edward Community Library.
Five club members submitted designs on the theme of “I’m a Yankee Doodle Dandy.” Blue ribbons for designs were awarded to Nan Colvin, Judy Jamieson and Betty McBridge; Carol Fields and new member, Brenda Hawkins, received red ribbons. Blue ribbons for horticulture were received by Karen Dillon and Nan Colvin; Judy Jamieson received a red ribbon.
The club meets monthly at 2 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday from September through may. A major club project during the past year was the design and planting of vegetable and memorial gardens at Trinity Mission. Visitors and new members are welcomed.
