Reid, Pairet Seeking Reelection

FARMVILLE — All of town council’s incumbents whose terms expire on June 30 have now made and announced their election decisions.
Vice-Mayor Armstead D. Reid is running for reelection in Ward C.
And Thomas M. Pairet is seeking to retain his At-Large seat.
Reid, who has served on town council since 1986, works for the United States Postal Service. He attended Southside Virginia Community College and served four years in the U.S. Air Force.
Pairet is finishing his first full term on town council. A business owner, Pairet attended Louisburg College in Louisburg, North Carolina.
Previously, Ward B’s Sally B. Thompson announced her reelection bid, while Ward A’s Dr. Edward I. Gordon and Mayor Sydnor C. Newman, Jr., revealed they will not run for reelection.
The terms of At-Large member David E. Whitus, Donald L. Hunter in Ward D and Ward E’s Jamie Davis will not expire until June 30, 2016.
Whitus, meanwhile, is running for mayor.
