CUMBERLAND, February 18 — Ralph E. Clements, 87, of Cumberland, died Friday, February 14, 2014. He was born August 6, 1926 in Halifax County, the son of the late Frank and Martha Clements. He was a retired agent with Nationwide Insurance and a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.

Mr. Clements is survived by his wife, Mattie Emerson Clements; two granddaughters, Tatum Clements of Avon, NC and Raden Clements of Bedford, IN; a sister, Nancy Leonard of Nathalie and a great-granddaughter, Phebe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John F. Clements, three sisters, Dot Smith, Frances Crews and Jane Clements, and four brothers, Bryce, James, Elwood and Aubrey Clements.

A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18 at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Amelia.
