CUMBERLAND COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS PUBLIC HEARING

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors will meet on Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as may be heard in the Circuit Courtroom at the Cumberland Courthouse in Cumberland, Virginia, to conduct a public hearing pursuant to Virginia Code Section 15.2-2204, which such hearing may be continued or adjourned, as required under applicable law, and to consider the following item and taking actions in furtherance thereof:
Renewal of Conditional Use Permit No. 11-05, Bodatious Motorsports Special Recreational Event– A request in accordance with Sec. 74-133 of the Cumberland County zoning ordinance to renew a conditional use permit to allow for the operation of multi-annual motorsports special recreational events. The applicant, Old Dominion Four Wheel Drive Club, proposes to continue to operate three annual weekend-long four wheel drive/off road races with camping and other associated activities. The BOS will review conditions for the proposed use. The request concerns the following property:
County Tax Map 12, Section A, Parcel 3 and 4 with respect to approximately 135 acres. The affected property is currently zoned A-2, Agricultural. The physical address of the parcel is 415 Boston Hill Road, Cartersville VA 23027. The parcel is located approximately 2 miles north of the intersection of Columbia Road (Route 690) and Boston Hill Road (Route 605). The property is in Election District 1 and not within a growth area as designated in the County’s Comprehensive Plan.
Copies of the complete text of the above request for conditional use permit renewal, conditions and compliance with the existing permit are available for public review at the office of the Cumberland County Planning Department, County Administration Building, 1 Courthouse Circle, Cumberland, Virginia and may be inspected between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm of each business day. The public is invited to attend this hearing at which persons affected may appear and present their views.
