Four-Alarm Fire Razes Building

Volunteer firefighters from four fire departments fought a massive fire for hours late Tuesday night near Trent’s Mill in Buckingham County that destroyed a large, rectangular chicken house that had been renovated into a shop building. The fire, reported at 8:14 p.m. according to Arvonia Fire Chief Chris Davis, occurred at the intersection of Trent’s Mill Road and Walnut Hill Lane near the Cumberland/Buckingham line. Fire companies from Arvonia, Dillwyn, Toga, and Cumberland responded to the blaze. Davis indicates there’s no word on the cause of the fire.
