Happy Birthday wishes are sent out to Luther P. Gilliam, of Dillwyn, celebrating on Monday, Oct. 14, Jean Sledge, of Cumberland, celebrating on Wednesday, Oct. 16, and Eugene (Jack) Talley, of New Canton, celebrating on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Barry and Linda Miles, of Cumberland, Susie Taylor, of Dillwyn and Patricia Woodfin, of New Canton, all enjoyed an evening meal at a Farmville Restaurant of Tuesday, Oct. 5. All had a nice time.
Jimmy and Judy Cogdill and Walter Cook, all of Powhatan, visited in the home of Ruby Cogdill in Cumberland on Saturday, Oct. 5.
Happy Anniversary wishes go out to Barry and Linda Miles of Cumberland. They will be celebrating 15 years of marriage on Thursday, Oct. 17.
Pete and Annie May Miles of Dillwyn, along with Barry and Linda Miles, all enjoyed an afternoon meal in Richmond on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

Kevin and Rene Marion, of Cumberland, celebrated their 25 wedding anniversary on Sept. 17. A large crowd of family, friends and neighbors gathered for a surprise celebration on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 6 at the Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department. Everyone attending enjoyed great food, fun and fellowship.
Maranatha Baptist Church, located on Tuggle Road in Farmville will host a Missions Conference beginning Sunday, Oct. 13, and extending through Wednesday, Oct. 16.
On Sunday, Oct. 13, Sunday School will begin at 10 a.m., morning worship at 11 a.m. with the closing service of the day at 6 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 14, through Wednesday, Oct. 16, services will be held nightly at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Robert Lee, formerly of Appomattox, with special music in all of the services.
