Julia Mae Toney White

SOUTH BOSTON, August 22 — Julia Mae Toney White of South Boston, died Friday, August 16, 2013 at her residence at the age of 58. Mrs. White was born in Prince Edward County on April 3, 1955 to the late Andrew Toney and Nellie Webster Toney. She was married to Charles D. White Sr. and was the former owner of J&J’s Restaurant.

Mrs. White was affiliated with the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses.

She is survived by her husband, Charles D. White Sr. of the home; two daughters, Natasha Ford and husband, Donald, and Keesha White, all of South Boston; a son, Charles D. White Jr. of Richmond; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; three sisters, Naomi Gibson of Farmville, Ernestine Toney of South Boston, and Pearl Williams of Lynchburg; four brothers, Bobby Toney of San Francisco, CA, Ernest Toney, Reginald Toney and John Toney, all of Farmville; mother-in-law, Gertrude White; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, including the devoted Janet Clay.

Memorial services will be Saturday, August 24 at 11 a.m. at The Elks Lodge, 236 North Main Street, Farmville, with Brother Phillip Lewis officiating.

The family is receiving friends at the residence 1607 Elliott Ave, South Boston, VA.

Funeral services are by Jeffress Funeral Home, South Boston.
