PRINCE EDWARD — County Sheriff Wesley Reed reported Thursday morning that no arrests have been made in connection with Tuesday’s bomb threat of the County’s courthouse.
The investigation is continuing.
Prince Edward County’s Courthouse and Farmville’s Town offices were evacuated Tuesday morning following an indicated bomb threat regarding the County’s courthouse received by the Town of Farmville Emergency Communications.
County Deputies, Virginia Game Commission and Town of Farmville police officers assisted with the search of the building, security and the perimeter. Bomb-sniffing dogs (which included two from State Police and Alleghany County) were also used and, finding nothing out of place, the building was released back to the public at approximately 11:45 a.m. The incident, however, disrupted three courts with scheduled dockets for the day.
