LUNENBURG — The Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police are continuing their extensive search efforts to locate a missing Kenbridge woman. Virginia Edmonds, 73, was last seen June 28, reports VSP Public Relations Manager Corinne Geller.
Since her disappearance, the sheriff’s office has followed up on numerous tips and leads that have been called in by the public, Geller said in a press release.
“We have reached out to law enforcement statewide, in neighboring North Carolina and nationwide through the National Sheriff’s Association to help us with locating Ms. Edmonds,” said Lunenburg County Sheriff Arthur Townsend. “We are also asking area residents to check their property, fields and out buildings this weekend for any sign of Ms. Edmonds’ silver 1999 Oldsmobile Alero. Her family desperately misses her and we just want to bring her home safely.”
Edmonds is a black female, with brown eyes and short, black hair. She weighs approximately 120 pounds and is 5 feet 5 inches in height. She wears glasses and was last seen wearing a black Members Only jacket and black shoes.
The Virginia license plate on the silver, four-door 1999 Oldsmobile Alero is XYR-2048.
At this stage of the search, foul play is not suspected in her disappearance.
Anyone with information about Ms. Edmonds or her disappearance is asked to contact the Lunenburg County Sheriff’s Office at 434-696-4452 or Virginia State Police at 434-352-7128. Anonymous calls are welcome.
