DILLWYN, July 9 — Floyd Edward Rush, 64, of Dillwyn, passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 at his home. He was born in South Boston on January 17, 1949, the son of the late Thomas Clyde and Elsie Land Rush. He was the owner/operator of F.E. Rush Backhoe Service and a master carpenter.

He left behind his loving wife of 23 years, Connie Cook Rush; four sisters, Marjorie Dixon of Dillwyn, Dorothy Davis of Farmville, Francis Price of Dillwyn, and Patricia Williams of Roanoke; a brother, Charlie Rush of Dillwyn; Ronald “Ronnie” Rush, a cousin, that he loved like a brother; good friend, Carter Scott, whom he loved like family; numerous nieces and nephews; loving in-laws; goddaughter, Lindsay Staton and godson, Brian Staton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Bushman and a brother, Thomas Toby Rush.
A funeral service was held Tuesday, July 2, at the Dunkum Funeral Home with interment in the Rush Family Cemetery.
