MIDLOTHIAN, June 11 – John N. Joyce, 71, of Midlothian, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2013. He retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 40 years of service.

Mr. Joyce is survived by his wife, Marilyn Daniel Joyce; two sons, John R. Joyce and wife, Cherie and Daniel P. Joyce and wife, Alison; grandchildren, Elizabeth A. Joyce, Vikki L. Rouleau, Abigail D. Joyce and Garrett A. Joyce; great-grandchildren, Braeden T. Rouleau and Camryn E. Rouleau; brother, Charles P. Joyce; and sister, Patricia J. Spillman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles R. Joyce and Mary N. Joyce, and sister, Diane J. Herndon.

Per Mr. Joyce's wishes, his body will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Farmville.
