NORTH CAROLINA, May 2 – Ruby Louise Allen Raborn, 90, of Asheville, NC, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2013 at her home. A native of Charlotte County, she had resided in Asheville since 1988. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dallas, TX and was a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League.

Mrs. Raborn was a daughter of the late John Broadus and Janie Scruggs Allen and wife of Wilber Lee “Bill” Raborn Jr. who died June 12, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, John W. Allen and his wife, Edna and Ryland Allen and his wife, Nell, sister, June Allen White and husband, Don and brother-in-law, John Kennison.

Surviving are her daughter, Linda L. Raborn of the home; sister, Jane B. Kennison of Beaverdam; and several nieces.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at Buckingham Baptist Church Cemetery in Gold Hill, under the direction of Dunkum Funeral Home.
